Kristen Stewart: Breaking Dawn Script is 'Really Good'

It's the beginning of the end for the "Twilight Saga." Okay, we may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves seeing as there's more than a year until "Breaking Dawn: Part 1" hits theaters, but with production set to begin in November, it's hard not to get a bit wistful. When we caught up with leading lady Kristen Stewart while promoting her upcoming movie "Welcome to the Rileys," she shared the sentiment.

"It's odd because [going back to set] feels the same, yet it's different because we all know that it is over," Kristen said. "It's so not over yet, either. We have the hugest job that we've had almost like all along."

Other than the fact feathers are definitely included in "Part 1," Kristen didn't give too many plot details away—even though she, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have done a complete script read-through of the first installment.

"To be honest, [the script is] never very striking, only because I know it," Kristen said. "You read it until you get to the last page just hoping that it doesn't let you down, going, 'Okay yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I got too, mm hmm, that's what I got.' It's really good. It's like, I don't know, it's very solid."

Message from Bill Condon - 'Breaking Dawn' Director

Bill Condon has written a message on Facebook to fans:

Hello fans!

Has it really been five months (and a day) since my last dispatch? In my defense, they've been five months spent immersed in the world of TWILIGHT - something I'm sure you can all appreciate. We're in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go, but I do want to take a moment to announce to you exclusively a few of the amazing production team members who are hard at work alongside me, bringing these movies to life. I hope you'll be as excited about them as I am:

Guillermo Navarro, who won an Academy Award for the beautiful PAN'S LABYRINTH, is our cinematographer. Guillermo and I have been painstakingly planning each shot, with a team of very talented storyboard artists.

Michael Wilkinson, our costume designer, is bringing his brilliant vision to the styles of all your favorite characters. Michael's created fantastic looks for 300, WATCHMEN, and the upcoming TRON: LEGACY - just wait 'til you see his take on the vampire witnesses who come to Forks from around the globe.

Jean Black, our makeup designer, has worked extensively with the Coen Brothers and David Fincher, most recently making exquisite, award-winning contributions to THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. I'm honored to be working with her.

Richard Sherman, with whom I made GODS AND MONSTERS and KINSEY, is on-board as our production designer. Richard's one of my oldest collaborators and a terrific designer, and you may be interested to know that he also happens to be a lifelong vampire aficionado.

Our Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor John Bruno has been responsible for some of the most memorable special effects ever, with his groundbreaking work on display in everything from POLTERGEIST to AVATAR. He and his team are working intensely to develop solutions to the host of special effects challenges that Stephenie created for us in BREAKING DAWN, including that remarkable kid...

Wonderful, imaginative people all and very exciting, intense times for us. Even with the months of work we've already put in, we're barely underway on the journey, and I do hope to get back to you much sooner next time with more news. Until then, thanks for your warm reception and continued support!

Very best regards,
Bill

Maggie Grace to play Irina in Breaking Dawn

According to Deadline, next member of the Denali Coven, Irina will play Maggie Grace
Maggie Grace will play a new vampire threat to Kristen Stewart's Bella in the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Grace, who played Liam Neeson's in-distress daughter in Taken, will play the role of Irina in the final installments of the Stephenie Meyer novel, which director Bill Condon is directing in two separate films.
Irina is a member of the Denali coven, considered cousins to the Cullen clan as the only other "vegetarian" vampire group. When Irina blames the Cullens for the death of her lover, her actions set in motion a terrifying chain of events. The first of two pictures will be released by Summit Entertainment on November 18, 2011, followed by the finale on November 16, 2012. Melissa Rosenberg is writing both scripts, and Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Meyer are producing. Grace just completed the Dwayne Johnson-starrer Faster for CBS Pictures and re-teamed with Taken producer Luc Besson inLockout, the outer space saga that stars Guy Pearce as a wrongly convicted man offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter (Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Grace is also waiting to reprise in Taken 2. She is repped by UTA and Global Creative.

Twilight College Course!

The class description is as follows: "Examines theTwilight saga and the resulting fandom.  ExploresTwlight in relation to the social and cultural construction of gender and gendered identities in contemporary U.S. culture.  Using an intersectional lens emphasizing gender, race, class, sexuality, and belief, provides students with the conceptual and analytical foundations to think more deeply about popular culture and its impact.  Covers vampire lore, the romantic core of the series, female characters and fans, the depiction of men and masculinity, religious contexts, race and white privilege, the franchising of Twilight, and various cultural contexts such as abstinence only education and the rise of internet fandoms."

They already made something like that, and you can check it here.
  • Edward would often Tweet “what is Bella thinking?!?”
  • Why are Star Trek and Star Wars fans not criticized or maligned in the same way as Twilighters?
  • Edward makes sacrifices for Bella as she does for him  – in this regard, their relationship is reciprocal
